So I did it. I completed the 6 week One Room Challenge. It was so much fun taking on this challenge. I saw so many new DIY bloggers and their transformation. It was awesome. I loved seeing all the different ideas come together over the past 6 weeks. It almost saddens me that this is the end. Almost. I ain't gonna lie this was definitely not easy. Especially while running a furniture building biz, being mommy and wifey all at the same time. I totally racked up some wine bottle on this journey for sure. But its done and I am so proud of what I have accomplished. So without further a do, let get in to the final pictures. I hope you like this HGTVs Fixer Upper Hot Sauce House inspired powder room, enjoy. Disclaimer: This post contains ...

DIY Rustic Vent Hood Cover
Hola my peep! So when I bought my home about 2 and half years ago, I knew without a doubt I wanted a beautiful old world feel vent hood. I researched like crazy, but every vent hood was either too modern or too pricey. So what do mom's do when they can't find what they are looking for, we DIY it. My husband was a little nervous about it. After all we are its a big ordeal, at least at the time for us to under take. But I was determined and I was;t going to stay with that generic cabinet over the vent hood 80s look. So here we go a DIY rustic vent hood coming at you. There she is in all her glory. When I said I wanted to rip all the cabinets off my husband was a lil freaked out. Then after it was done he was even more freaked out that ...

You are not alone. I have a story that taught me about the consequences of poor planning. Hold on there is more, imagine having a 3 year old boy in tow. Now I am not hating on boys, but there is just something about a young boys energy and attention span that goes haywire after siting still for more then 30 seconds. So lets bring on the wine and I will give you a taste of one of the most exhausting nights of my furniture building career. Heres the Scoop on my Poor Planning Ok so I got an order for a really big build. I was so excited to do a new ...
DIY Double Barn Door Entertainment Center
I have always hoped that I would get a big project from a client to shake things up from table making. Becareful for what you wish for. Oh man was this one a beast of a project. Coming in at 10 feet long and 8 feet high, she was no easy feat. But I got her done and had fun doing it. I cant wait to share with you how it was done and how I created the barn doors to fit the wider opening. After I received an inspirational picture and the desired dimensions from the client it was time to get to work. I used the plans from Shanty 2 Chic's DIY double barn door media center. However, I did alter the dimensions to fit the clients needs. It went to 10ft L x 8ft H instead of 9.5ft L x 7.25ft H. I also had to build it so that It can assembled ...
80s Green Avocado to Rustic Farmhouse Kitchen
So you bought your first house, huh? And the kitchen is an eyesore and needs a sledge hammer ASAP. This was my thought the moment we closed on our house. We fell in love with the space and the possibilities of the house, but mostly it was the neighborhood and the school district. I knew that one of the first stop was tackling that kitchen. I envisioned a rustic airy farmhouse kitchen, but I had to do it on a dime. Unfortunately, the whole downstairs floors where a laminate wood that I just could not live with. So we had to pick out the floors, which I gotta say was fun process. A local contractor hooked us up and lead us to Travis tile. Going to a show room can feel overwhelming but exciting. Its like a buffet, but an expensive one. ...
